On the Agenda: Housing Committee to Discuss Registering Vacant Homes

The North Canton City Council members on the housing review committee said vacant homes are targeted by thieves seeking copper, and often the homes fall into disrepair

We'll hear from the the Housing Review Committee again at tonight's North Canton City Council meeting. The committee is tasked with looking at foreclosed and rental homes and proposing changes to housing and zoning codes, among other things.

On the agenda for tonight is an update on registering vacant homes. Committee members , and often the homes fall into disrepair.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. inside the Council Chambers of North Canton City Hall, 145 N. Main St.

Council also will look at the wording on an ordinance regarding how new exempt employees' vacation time is awarded. As written, the way vacation time is accrued for those employees is unclear.
