Myers Controlled Power to Host Job Fair Friday

The Hoover District company plans to hire 20 people after hosting a job fair Friday

The best part of Myers Controlled Power hiring for 20 new positions immediately is they likely won't stop there, said after the company announced its upcoming expansion.

Held and Richard Sanchez, executive vice president of Myers Controlled Power inside the Hoover District, made the announcement Monday afternoon inside North Canton City Hall.

"We were excited to bring them here to the city of North Canton, and we're even more excited they're growing, because that's something you don't find in today's economy — a company that's in growth mode," Held said.

Myers Controlled Power manufactures circuit breakers that help run subways, trolleys and other types of transportation. And because the transportation industry is growing, so is Myers Controlled Power.

The company is looking for mechanical designers, electrical designers, electrical systems engineers, project managers and field service text tech individuals.

It also has openings for sheet metal CNC programmers, sheet metal press brake operators, a sheet metal turret punch operator, switchgear wiremen and switchgear assembly workers.

The company will host a job fair at 8:30 a.m. Friday on the fourth floor of the Hoover building. Sanchez said job seekers must fill out applications and bring a resume if they can.
