Hoover High Girls Softball Team Honored at City Council Meeting

The Hoover Vikings softball team was honored for their 2011 Division I State Championship at Monday night's North Canton City Council meeting

The girls' softball team was honored Monday night at the North Canton City Council meeting.

The team was recognized for becoming District I State Champions. The team and ended their season with a 30-3 record.  stood in front of a crowded hall and honored the  players one by one and presented them with proclamations naming that day a day of recognition for the Hoover High Vikings Softball team.

After the recognition, the Hoover athletic boosters announced that the girls would have .

Council also discussed the following:

Law Department to supervise collection attorney hirings.
City departments were hiring collection attorneys. Now under a new ordinance, all collection attorney hirings will go through the law department.

Temporary light to be installed at intersection of East Maple Street and Marquardt Avenue.
Traffic is increasing at the intersection and turning east has become a problem for drivers. The city will pay a little under $20,000 to install the light.

Next  Meeting:
The meeting next Monday is moved to 7 p.m. Tuesday (July 5) because of the July 4 holiday.
