Have You Seen the Signs?: City Adds Street Signs at Major Intersections

If you've traveled through some of the city's major intersections recently, you may have noticed something has changed

Have you seen those white street signs that are popping up at major intersections in North Canton?

The city is trying to make it easier for out-of-towners (and maybe some of us right here in the city) to find their way around. You can now find white-and-black signs marking the names of the streets on traffic light poles around town.

Ward 1 Councilman Doug Foltz says he appreciates them when they were discussed at the Dec. 10 city council meeting.

"We have all this modern technology to show us, but it's nice to see a visible sign before you get right on the intersection to make a turn," he said.

You can find the signs at several intersections, including Main and Orion streets and Main and Applegrove streets.

The city is also in process of erecting entryway signs. Find out more about that here. Thirteen of the 15 entryway signs are funded, Councilman-at-large Mark Cerreta noted at that council meeting.

Take a look at the accompanying photos and let us know: Do you like the signs and think they're a good idea? Are they a good size, and do they fit with the look and feel of the city?
