Disaster Relief Fund is Topic of Tonight's Council Meeting

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers

At tonight's City Council Committee of the Whole meeting, members will discuss establishing a North Canton Disaster Relief Fund. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The fund is designed to help disaster victims like those affected by the July 19 rainstorm and flooding. It will cover expenses not normally covered by operating insurance after natural or man-made disasters.

The fund would be maintained by the city's Finance Department and the money would be distributed by an approval of a community committee. Those asking for assistance will be asked to fill out a form to prove need.
