Commission Turns Down Additional Parking Spots at Little League Field

The proposed overhead lights will be considered separately at an upcoming Planning Commission meeting, most likely in April.

The city of North Canton will have to do without 78 more parking spaces at the Little League field.

The commission met Wednesday inside Council Chambers and decided to turn down the site plan for a new lot at the ball fields. Right now, there are 277 parking spots.

According to The Canton Repository, the planning commission voted 3-2 to reject the city administration’s plan for additional gravel parking spots at the city-owned fields.

The parking area, if approved, would have been on a portion of a 2.9 acre plot owned by the city.

“I’m surprised they voted that down,” Council President Jon Snyder told The Canton Repository. “Obviously it needs some more work, the request.”
