Cleveland Heights Economic Development Director Resigns

Howard Thompson began with the city in 2010 after working in Beachwood

Cleveland Heights Economic Development Director Howard Thompson has resigned from his position, Cleveland Heights Mayor Ed Kelley said.

He added that the city and Council hopes to "re-look at our Planning and Economic Development Department" and ensure that its services are provided to the city's businesses in the most effective and efficient way.

"I have every confidence in the world that Howard will land on his feet and I wish him the best in his endeavors," Kelley added.

Thompson started with the city in 2010 after working in Beachwood. In Cleveland Heights, he was involved in opening the city's developing at Lee and Meadowbrook and improving the Cedar Lee and Cedar Fairmount business districts.

Kelley would not say more about the resignation, and acting City Manager Susannah O'Neill did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

They froze him out almost immediately. He wasn't allowed to answer any of my questions relating to Lee-Meadowbrook.

Outstanding. Only the phonies at the Heights Observer could attempt to put a positive spin on this. Garry, you are right. The city council and school board and their puppets like the lay finance committee are truly the ring leaders on the proverbial ship of fools.

"Ship of fools" are not my words.
