My 38 years of experience in the field of education has given me insight into students, parents, peers and administration. We as a school district are being challenged to find more efficient ways to continue to provide an excellent education for our students. I embrace this challenge. I understand change from a personal and professional level. It may be difficult, but change done correctly can be both positive and beneficial.

I have pride in North Canton City Schools and my community as well. My experience and passion for education will enable me to research issues and ask the difficult questions that will improve the school district as a whole. As a previous member of the negotiations team I am familiar with the North Canton City School’s budget. This knowledge and experience will provide me with background necessary to be an effective school board member.

I have been blessed to live and work in North Canton. My husband, Ron, worked at the Hoover Company for 35 years. Our children all graduated from North Canton , and our granddaughters will one day graduate from Hoover as well. My son, Matthew Johnsen, teaches English and . I am proud to be a “Viking." We need to make every school the best school in North Canton. Education is a gift that no one can take from you. Teaching was my passion.
