Other facts

As a lifelong resident of Perry Township, Amanda Trump is disappointed by the representation of our district on the state level and is running to provide quality representation to the middle class families of the 48th House District. As a finance consultant for the Protect Ohio’s Future PAC and local and state candidates, Amanda works to help qualified candidates win political office. Amanda began her career interning at the Ohio House of Representatives as a freshman in college. While at the Statehouse, Amanda learned the importance of constituent relations when speaking with local families about everyday issues – from economic development to state services. While going to college full-time, she then worked on a number of local campaigns in the Columbus area through a political consulting firm that specialized in direct mail and fundraising. After graduating, she returned to her hometown of Canton, Ohio to work for the Stark County Democratic Party. In July of 2010, she began working on Richard Cordray’s re-election campaign for Attorney General. Traveling the state as a finance consultant, Amanda met with people statewide and was able to discuss issues that affect Ohio’s citizens from each corner of the state. Since January of 2011, Amanda has worked for local candidates as a fundraising consultant around the state, focusing on Northeast Ohio. Working on local campaigns gave Amanda the unique opportunity of meeting with community leaders and discussing issues, from economic development to labor relations. Her legislative and political experience gives Amanda a strong base to both successfully win the office as well as a deep understanding of the legislative process that will allow her to be effective on her first day in the Legislature. Amanda was born and raised in Perry Township as the youngest of four and was the first in her family to graduate from college. She attended and graduated from Perry Local Schools. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
