Woman Abducted by Two Men on Main Street

A woman told North Canton police two men abducted her in the 100 block of South Main Street Monday night

are investigating an abduction that was reported in the 100 block of South Main Street late Monday night.

A 31-year-old woman told police two men, one wearing a mask, shoved her into a van and drove off, according to a call-for-service entry from the North Canton Police Department. The woman's face was cut during the attack.

The woman was able to get out of the vehicle and run to safety at her home on North Main Street. She called 911 about 11:30 p.m. that night and was later taken to Aultman Hospital for injuries.

Police Sgt. Shawn Bates said the department is actively investigating the abduction. The police report isn't complete yet; nor has a news release been issued about the attack.

"We're rounding up some loose ends before putting that information out there," Bates said.

Police found the suspect's vehicle in the 400 block of Royer Avenue NW and also called on the Canton police and its K9 unit for help that night.
