Violent Crime: How Does North Canton Stack Up Against Cities of Similar Size?

We put North Canton's numbers next to other cities in Ohio with comparable populations

North Canton is in line with most cities of similar size when it comes to violent crime.

It pretty much fell right down the middle when compared to cities like Defiance, Tallmadge, New Philadelphia and Twinsburg when looking at 2011 crime stats recently released by the FBI. 

But, North Canton did fall into the top half of the spectrum (reporting more crime) for burglaries and aggravated assaults.

Violent crime includes murder and non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault. 

The property crime stats include burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft and arson.

The charts above show the total property crime and total violent crime in North Canton compared to other cities, and also further break down each of these categories.

These are the known offenses in the city in 2011, tracked and reported by the North Canton Police Department to the FBI.
