Tire Gauge Gets Teen In Trouble: Police Blotter

The tire gauge a teen shone in a driver's eyes was mistaken for laser sights on a gun

A motorist called Saturday night, saying someone in another car might have a gun pointed at him. The caller said the person had a laser aimed at his face, and that he feared it might have been the sight on a gun.

The man called in about 9:30 p.m. from the intersection of North Main and West Maple streets.

Police later found it was a 16-year-old Uniontown boy with a tire gauge. They issued the boy a warning.

Theft at Hoover High

Someone stole about $1,300 in items from a locker room at , 525 7th St. NE, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. Missing items include several pairs of earrings, two cell phones, three iPods and a pair of Nike shoes.

Phone stolen from Mullinax Ford

Someone took a $500 cell phone from the sales desk area of Mullinax Ford, 5900 Whipple Ave. NW, between 9:45 and 10:30 a.m. Jan. 11.
