Teen Charged With Theft After Stealing Starbucks Tip Jar

A North Canton teen made off with the tip jar at the Starbucks drive-thru this week but was caught a short time later

Recent charges against a North Canton teen who stole a tip jar at the should serve as a warning for those who also are thinking of grabbing more than just some morning java.

A quick-thinking barista was able to write down the teen's license number when she noticed the jar was no longer at the drive-thru window about 1 p.m. Monday. Police responded and later tracked the teen back to his home, according to a report from the .

The 17-year-old is charged with one count of theft, a minor misdemeanor.

The jar itself was only worth a couple bucks, but it contained about $35 that afternoon.
