Suspects Try to Outrun Police, Fail; Obscene Proposition: Crime Blotter

On April 14, a 17-year-old North Canton girl contacted police after she reportedly received an obscene Facebook comment from someone she knew.

According to the police report, the man allegedly offered the teenager $100 to have sex with him.

The old switcheroo

A driver and passenger weren't fooling police on April 12 when they changed places after getting pulled over in the 100 block of North Circle Drive. Police saw the switcheroo, and as they tried to question the real driver, he fled on foot.

He was arrested minutes later and charged with driving while under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor; resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor; and obstruction of official police business, a second-degree misdemeanor. 

Woman tries to outrun police, loses

On April 11 at 8:10 p.m., police pulled over a car in the 6300 block of North Market Avenue; however, it was the passenger, Teresa Harford, 40, of Canton, that piqued the officers’ interest after she gave a fake name and fled the scene.

Police eventually caught up with Harford and charged her with obstruction of official police business, a second-degree felony; identity fraud, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of drugs and drug abuse instruments, both fourth-degree misdemeanors.
