Classes Resume at 5 p.m. for Stark State Campuses and Kent Stark Fine Arts Building

Stark State College in Jackson Township had closed this afternoon after a bomb threat

UPDATE 1: Classes at  and the Fine Arts Building at will resume at 5 p.m. today.

Stark State and its satellite campuses, as well as Kent Stark's Fine Arts Building, closed this afternoon, after the school's fourth bomb threat in about a month.

Stark State College sent a text alert about 12:30 p.m. today notifying its students about the bomb threat. Police and campus security evacuated the buildings, and campus officials announced the college currently is closed.

Irene Motts, Stark State's director of marketing and communications, had advised all students and staff to check the college's website, www.starkstate.edu, or call its main line at 330-494-6170 to ensure their upcoming classes today would still take place.

The college also evacuated and closed after bomb threats , and . Motts said, after the first bomb threat Jan. 24, it had been years since the last one.
