Stowaway Eats Dentist Office Food, Sleeps in Storage Room: Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the North Canton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

It appears the offices of  have a stowaway.

Those at the dentist office building told police April 3 that an unknown person has been sleeping in a storage room and eating their food. The person also has been wearing their clothing. (Well, the promotional T-shirts that they keep there.)

The office is located at 1021 Schneider St. SE.

Someone's trying to steal the Hometown Laundromat coin machine again

It's been three months since the last time someone's tried to steal the coin machine at Hometown Laundry. At least from what we recollect.

for prying the machine from the wall and trying to make off with it in their car. And a report of someone attempting to pry it open just popped up in the North Canton police reports this week.

According to the most recent report, someone took a crow bar and tire iron to the coin machine at Hometown Laundromat, 707 S. Main St., between 5:30 and 5:41 a.m. April 7. The person pried the machine open wide enough to remove the coin cup.

It's not known how much coinage was stolen.

21-year-old caught driving under the influence

Police pulled over a 21-year-old Akron man in the 1000 block of Maple Street about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday after clocking him speeding and seeing him weave on the road. The man was issued a summons to appear in court on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, speed and marked lanes.

Man's wallet stolen while in Giant Eagle

A 70-year-old Canton man said someone stole his wallet when he was shopping in Giant Eagle, 1955 E. Maple St., about 1 p.m. April 7. He was carrying $330 in the wallet.

GPS stolen from car on Sheraton Drive

Someone stole a $150 Garmin GPS from a car in the 200 block of Sheraton Drive NW between 9 p.m. April 7 and 7:03 a.m. Monday.

Traffic stop leads to operating vehicle under the influence charge

A 45-year-old North Canton man was pulled over at the intersection of Everhard Road and Jonathan Avenue SW about 1 a.m. April 6 and cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to reinstate and failure to signal.

Change, iPod stolen from car on Portage Street

Someone stole an iPod, loose change and chewing gum from a car in the 1300 block of Portage Street NW between 7:30 p.m. April 6 and 8 a.m. April 7.

22-year-old found drunk and passed out on North Main

A 22-year-old Canal Fulton woman was found drunk and passed out in the 1500 block of North Main Street about 10:30 p.m. April 7. She was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication and issued her a summons to appear in court. She was later taken to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation.

Cash stolen from doctor's office

Someone forced open the door of Portage Family Practice Clinic, 1413 Portage St. NW, between 6:30 p.m. April 6 and 2:15 p.m. April 8. The person had caused $400 in damage to the door frame before stealing $400 from the building.

Car vandalized at Wendy's on Market Avenue

A car was vandalized in the parking lot of Wendy's, 6501 Market Ave. N., about 4 p.m. Sunday.

Drugs found in 22-year-old's car

Police found hand-rolled cigarettes, two baggies of what appeared to be marijuana and a digital scale when they pulled over a 22-year-old Canton man about 5 p.m. April 4. The man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and driving under suspension.
