Funky odor leads to arrests

What started as a routine traffic stop turned into a pair of major misdemeanor arrests for two North Canton men who were found in possession of burnt spoons and a syringe.

The men were pulled over on Pittsburgh Avenue NW on March 27 at 9:31 p.m., and were asked to step out of their car when officers reportedly smelled marijuana.

Following the search and discovery of the suspected heroin-related paraphernalia, the men were each charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and taken into custody.

A 48-year-old North Canton woman called police after someone reportedly burglarized her Parkview Avenue NW residence on the morning of April 1.

An unknown number of thieves stole her .380 caliber Walther semi-automatic pistol, and Xanax, Percocet and Vicodin pills, according to a North Canton poilce report.

Detectives are investigating the felony theft.

Spray paint vandals

Police received two criminal mischief reports on April 3 after an unknown number of vandals defaced the bathrooms at Price and Witwer Park with spray paint. There are no suspects or leads relating to the graffiti incidents.
