Police Hope to Find Owners of 2 Lost Dogs

The dogs were found near Applegrove Street and Marquardt Avenue NW Tuesday afternoon

Two lost dogs got to spend their Tuesday night at the , and today they're off to the Stark County Pound.

But police hope they won't be there for long; they're hopeful the owners will see the dogs on North Canton Patch and bring them back home.

Police found the dogs near Applegrove Street and Marquardt Avenue NW Tuesday afternoon. They said the dogs were friendly and were wearing collars.

(Don't let that barking in the video fool you — they were spooked by the camera!)

I just called a guy missing these dogs (Craigslist). Thanks to Patch and Craigslist, I think these two cuties will be reunited.

We posted this to Facebook and a friend of mine saw it, checked Craigslist and sure enough someone had posted pics of their lost dogs! She contacted the owner and they are making arrangements to go pick them up! NC Pound and Police should remember to check in the future! Maybe we could make more matches for lost pets.

Just wanted to say thank you again to the lady that called and informed me the police department had my two dogs. It's nice to see such great people are still out there.

This.is.awesome! What an amazing way for media and the police to work together. If more of this is possible to keep dogs out of the always overcrowded Stark County Dog Pound, it would be fantastic.

I have to say I was surprised myself that NCPD didn't check Craigslist. It is the first thing I do when finding a stray. Reunited owners of a lost beagle that way a couple years ago. Saw the posting lastnight for the pups, I was checking to see if anyone is missing a black cat who we have at our home. It rushes in our back door and wants attention, so I know it is not just some stray.

Thank you sooo much, I am the mommy for these two escape artists. I really appreciate everything everyone did for them

The police do a lot of things, but do you really think its up to them to check Craigslist for lost dogs? Maybe if the owner would have had tags on them, they would have been contacted directly.

So happy these 2 were reunited with their owner! Microchips and tags are good to have. I wouldn't expect the police to check craigslist and would rather have them visible in the community. Thank you North Canton Patch for doing an awesome job of keeping us updated and informed!

At the beginning of this video it almost seems like they are singing a song the big dog barks twice looks over at the little guy he lets off a few barks then looks back at the big dog who then barks funny stuff Way to go Morgan and Karen.
