Police Arrest Man Who Didn't Come Through on Roof Work for the Elderly

Matthew A. Schultz, 31, of Parma, was arrested Friday on a felony warrant for theft from an elderly or disabled person

A Parma man accused of promising an elderly person roofing repair, accepting payment, and then not following through with the work was arrested by North Canton police Friday.

According to the Canton Repository, North Canton police arrested 31-year-old Matthew A. Schultz Friday afternoon at the Massillon Police Department on a felony warrant of theft from an elderly or disabled person.

According to Stark County court records, the complaint was filed on Sept. 26, 2012.

The Rep reports (according to jail records) that Schultz took $7,100 from a person to repair a roof, but never did the work. The records list him as a self-employed in the home improvement business.
