Man says someone damaged his building several times

A man told someone has been damaging buildings, belonging to Bearing Distributors Inc. in the 400 block of Applegrove St. NW, over the past year, and the incidents have become more frequent in the past week. Someone spray-painted a building, broke a sign and railing and cut a garage door, causing about $3,400 in damages. 

Scam costs woman more than $2,000

A woman in the 800 block of Furbee Avenue fell for a scam that cost her $2,015. On May 8, the woman got a phone call that her grandson was in jail and needed bail money. She wired the money and then realized it was a scam.

Assault in Gabriel Brothers parking lot

Police responded to an assault in the parking lot of Gabriel Brothers, 5800 Whipple Ave. NW, about 11 a.m. May 13. Victims of the assault were listed as a 23-year-old woman and 24-year-old woman, both of Canton.

Van stolen on 7th Street NE

Someone stole a 2004 white Econoline van from the 200 block of 7th Street NE between 10 p.m. April 29 and 6 a.m. April 30. The van itself was valued at $5,000, and inside were $15,000 worth of tools.

Graffiti painted on buildings around town

A man told police that he noticed graffiti near two of the buildings he rents out. One was in the 100 block of Applegrove St. NE and the other was on the North Canton Post Office. He said someone could have spray-painted the buildings between Aug. 1, 2010, and May 7.
