Number of Concealed Carry Licenses Issued in Ohio High in 2013

In six months, Ohio has issued almost as many concealed carry licenses as were issued in all of 2012.

Numbers from Attorney General Mike DeWine's office show that more than 16,000 concealed carry licenses were issued in the second quarter over the first.

For the second quarter of 2013 (April 1-June30), 48,032 concealed carry licenses were issued. Sheriffs in Ohio said 15,958 of those were renewals.

The Attorney General's Office compiles an annual report as required by law about the number of licenses issued each year. Each sheriff must report concealed handgun license statistics quarterly to the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission within the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
