North Canton Man Jailed After Reportedly Trying To Strangle and Shoot Woman

Rodney C. Mock, 45, of North Canton, is now charged with aggravated assault, aggravated menacing and domestic violence

A North Canton man was arrested Friday night after reportedly trying to strangle a woman through an open car window and threatening to shoot her.

The Canton Repository reported that Stark County sheriff's deputies arrested Rodney C. Mock, 45, after the incident at 55th Street and Market Avenue North.

Stark County Jail officials confirmed Mock was in the jail as of Saturday night, with two separate bonds — a $24,000 cash surety bond for the fourth-degree felony charge of aggravated assault and a $10,000 bond for the first-degree misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and domestic violence.

Jail records indicated Mock tried to strangle the woman through an open car window, but they did not say why, the Canton Rep reported.
