Mom Caught Driving Under the Influence with Child in Tow: Police Blotter

Stolen newspaper boxes

Two Canton Repository newspaper boxes valued at $500 a piece were stolen from the 700 block of South Main Street and the 1400 block of West Maple Street between 5 a.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday.

A 31-year-old Canton woman is accused of driving around her 3-year-old child while she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Police pulled the woman over in the 1400 block of Pittsburg Avenue NW about 6 p.m. Aug. 30 on suspicion that she was driving under the influence. They cited her with driving under the influence, endangering children, driving under suspension and having expired license plate.

Tools broken, tomatoes thrown in backyard

Someone broke several tools in the backyard of a home in the 900 block of Dogwood Avenue NE between 8 p.m. Aug. 27 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 28. The person also threw tomatoes around the backyard. Estimated loss is $70.

Crank calls irk Donato's employees

A  employee (814 N. Main St.) reported that someone keeps calling and placing fake orders under a fake phone number. 

AC unit stolen from Dayspring Family Church

Someone stole a large air conditioning unit valued at $2,500 from , 1600 Portage St. NW, between 7 p.m. Aug. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 19.

Car vandalized at Hoover High

Black and orange washable paint was thrown on a car parked at , 525 7th St. NE, between 6:30 p.m. and 9:18 p.m. Aug. 31. The victim told police it might have been because the car had Louisville stickers on it.

Rock thrown through window

A resident in the 1700 block of Beechwood Avenue NE told police someone threw a rock through his balcony door about 1:35 a.m. Saturday. Estimated damage is $700.

Car window broken on South Main Street

Someone broke out the rear window of a car in the 1100 block of South Main Street between noon and 3:44 p.m. Saturday. Estimated damage is $200.
