Methamphetamine Disposal Site Opens in North Canton

Meth disposal containers have been placed in cities across Ohio due to a record number of drug seizures.

Ever wonder where all those dangerous and toxic chemicals go after a local meth lab bust?

Well, the answer is North Canton, according to wkyc.com.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine helped facilitate the placement of five disposal containers in the Buckeye State, and North Canton's Ohio Highway Patrol post was one of the sites selected since it's guarded 24/7.

Installing the five containers around Ohio allows contractors to pick up hazardous materials from crime scenes and safely dump them, which frees local officers up and prevents cops from sustaining injuries caused by chemical exposure.

The $7,000 containers were also purchased and set up due to the fact that a record 770 meth labs have been discovered so far this year by authorities, creating the need for a streamlined process of meth disposal.
