Man Who Ran Around Naked After Crashing into a Federal Building to Appear in Court

A man who crashed into a federal building in Canton then stripped down naked and ran around before being arrested will appear in court Wednesday.

Christopher S. McCormick, 26, of North Canton, drove a Dodge Stratus into the southwest corner of the Ralph Regula Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse at 301 McKinley Ave. SW about 3 a.m. Saturday, according to NewsNet5.com. After crashing into the building, McCormick took off his clothes and ran around naked, the news station reported.

McCormick originally was to appear in Canton Municipal Court for an arraignment Monday, but the arraignment was rescheduled for Wednesday morning, according to Stark County court records. Records indicated McCormick was being treated by Heartland Behavior Healthcare.

He faces a fourth-degree felony vandalism charge in relation to the crash.

McCormick's court docket also shows two fifth-degree felony charges of harrassment by an inmate, with an arraignment hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning.
