Man's Belongings Reported Stolen From Inside YMCA, Car From Outside: Police Blotter

A 63-year-old North Canton man discovered some of his belongings missing from inside and walked outside only to discover his car was also gone. He told police he put a windbreaker and his car keys on a shelf inside the building and walked outside after he discovered those items gone about 5 p.m. Sunday. That's when he realized his $23,000 Honda Accord was missing from the lot.

$500 in heartburn meds stolen from Walgreens

Someone walked out of at 6421 Market Ave. N. with nearly $500 worth of Prilosec, a heartburn medication, about 8:40 p.m. March 30.

Driver caught with suspended license; passenger with drugs

Police pulled over a driver in the 1000 block of North Main Street and found that not only was he driving under suspension, the passenger also was in possession of drugs. The driver, a 50-year-old North Canton man, was arrested for driving under suspension while the passenger, a 20-year-old North Canton man, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Man stomps teen's bicycle

A 14-year-old North Canton boy told police a 19-year-old North Canton man stomped on his bicycle and broke the rims while they were on the Stark Parks trial at Marquardt and 7th Street. The man caused $140 in damanges by jumping up and down on the bike about 1:50 p.m. March 26.

Canton teens caught trespassing

Police caught two Canton boys, 16 and 17 years old, trespassing on property in the 600 block of Linwood Avenue SW about 12:10 a.m. March 30. The two were seen breaking into cars belonging to the property owners. Nothing was missing from the cars, and the boys were charged with criminal trespassing and vehicle trespassing, both fourth-degree misedemeanors.

Speeder on South Main was also drunk

Police stopped a motorist in the 1600 block of South Main Street for speeding about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and found the driver, a 24-year-old North Canton man, to be drunk. The man was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor, and cited for speed and marked lanes.

Items stolen from car at Hower Street/Pershing Avenue

Clothing, a gym bag, an iPod and other items were stolen from inside a car at Hower Street NE and Pershing Avenue NE about 11 p.m. March 27. Estimated loss is $450.
