Main Street Festival Causing Numerous North Canton Road Closures

North Canton Police Chief Stephan Wilder has released road closure information and is asking drivers to plot out alternative routes.

The 17th annual Main Street Festival starts today, which is good news for fair-goers but bad news for motorists.

From 6 p.m. Friday (Aug. 16) to 7 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18), the following North Canton streets will be closed to thru traffic, according to North Canton Police Chief Stephan Wilder:

  • North Main Street at Charlotte Street North
  • Ream Avenue NE at West Maple Street
  • Harmon Street SW at South Main Street
  • 400 Block on South Main Street (Motorists alerted at Bachtel Street of road closed ahead)
  • Bitzer Street SE at McKinley Avenue SE
  • East Maple Street at McKinley Avenue SE
  • Witwer Street NE at North Main Street
  • Hower Street NE at North Main Street

Even though some detour signage will be posted, Wilder asks that drivers plot out alternative routes to circumvent the festival site.
