Giant Eagle Robbery Case Heads to Grand Jury

A Stark County grand jury will hear the facts in the April 14 robbery in which a man pulled a knife on a Giant Eagle employee

A grand jury will hear evidence in the case involving Ronald E. Keen III, 21, of Canton, who's accused of .

Police say Keen was being unruly with a security guard at the front of the store at 1955 E. Maple St. about 4:15 p.m. April 14. Then he threatened at least one of the store employees with a pocket knife before running east through the parking lot.

Police arrested Keen after catching up with him in a yard in the 100 block of Bellview Street NE.

He was taken by  to Mercy Medical Center for treatment after complaining of minor injuries. He was later booked into the Stark County Jail. 

Police say they also found heroin on Keen.

He faces charges of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

Keen was slated for a preliminary hearing in Canton Municipal Court this week. According to court records, that hearing was waived and the case was bound to the grand jury.
