Knife-Wielding Man in Giant Eagle Incident to Appear in Court

Arraignment continued for man who carried heroin and pulled a knife on a Giant Eagle employee.

The arraignment for with a pocket knife will be continued this morning in Canton.

Ronald E. Keen III, 21, of Canton, will appear at 9 a.m. at Canton Municipal Court for a continued arraignment related to his arrest Saturday for allegedly pulling a knife on at least one employee at the grocery store.

Keen appeared in Massillon Municipal Court Monday morning. According to Canton Clerk of Courts, Keen will face two felony charges — possession of drugs and aggravated robbery.

According to North Canton police, Keen got into a dispute with a security guard at the front of the before revealing a knife. He ran through the parking lot, but was soon caught by police in a yard within the 100 block of Bellview Street NE.

Police found heroin on Keen once officers apprehended him. He has been in Stark County Jail since his arrest, in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Police said two other males entered the store with Keen. Their involvement remains under investigation.

There were no injuries reported by any of the store employees involved in the incident.
