Fire Shuts Down North Main Street Wendy's Thursday

Fire officials said Wendy's employees nearly had the kitchen fire put out when they arrived to the fast food restaurant just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday

North Canton firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at Wendy's restaurant, 1420 N. Main. St., at 12:36 a.m. Thursday.

Fire officials said a majority of the fire had been extinguished by the employees who activated the hood suppression system, and the fire department extinguished any fire that the suppression system had not put out. 

Fire crews had the fire extinguished within in 10 minutes.

The Stark County Health Department was contacted and the restaurant remained closed throughout during the morning hours. CantonRep.com reported at 3:15 p.m. Thursday that the restaurant opened later that morning.

The North Canton Fire Prevention Bureau is investigating the cause of the fire.

The North Canton Fire Department responded with two engines, a ladder truck and 17 personnel. All crews were back in service at 3:25 a.m.
