Scammed
A 26-year-old Canton man recently sent over $800 to India to secure what he believed to be a $4,000 loan.
Unfortunately, the transaction appears to have been a scam.

Police picked off a 30-year-old Navarre man on April 20 after he was spotted driving down South Main Street with his brights on.
Officers quickly discovered the man was intoxicated and charged him with drunken driving, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Busted
Local teenagers were caught in a parked car April 19 with rolling papers, smoking tobacco, rolled marijuana cigarettes and a bag of weed, according to a North Canton police report.
Officers found the mini-weed cache after approaching the teens in the Acme parking lot off North Main Street.
They were arrested and charged with illegal use of drugs, a fourth-degree misdemeanor and possession of drugs, a minor misdemeanor.
Wild ride
On April 14, police spotted a 16-year-old Canton motorist speeding down South Main Street with his brights on.
According to the police report, officers tried to pull him over, but the teen ignored their orders. He began driving recklessly, then crashed his car and fled on foot.
He was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with failure to comply with police orders, a third-degree felony.
He was also cited for several traffic violations.
