Heroin-Toting Man Pulls Pocket Knife on Giant Eagle Employee

Police arrested Ronald E. Keen III, 21, of Canton, Saturday outside the Giant Eagle on East Maple Street

Police arrested a Canton man after he threatened a employee with a pocket knife about 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

Here's the account, according to : Ronald E. Keen III, 21, of Canton, was being uncooperative with a security guard at the front of the store at 1955 E. Maple St. Then he threatened at least one of the store employees with a pocket knife before running east through the parking lot.

Police arrested Keen after catching up with him in a yard in the 100 block of Bellview Street NE.

He was taken by to Mercy Medical Center for treatment after complaining of minor injuries. 

Police say they also found heroin on Keen.

He was booked into the Stark County Jail and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

A jail official said Sunday Keen's bond was $50,000. 

Two other males were identified as having come into the store with Keen. Their involvement is under investigation.

There were no injuries reported by any of the store employees involved in the incident.
