Gun, Concealed Carry ID Stolen From Car: Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the North Canton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Someone broke into a car in the 1600 block of Meadowlane Drive SE and took a ton of gun-related items.

Including a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver and the owner's concealed carry ID card.

The theft took place between 10 p.m. Sept. 25 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 26, according to the North Canton police report.

Other stolen items include a rucksack, a stethoscope, Garmin GPS, $600 cash, a gun holster and pocketknife. Estimated total loss is $2,852.

Someone marked engravings onto a sidewalk in the 800 block of Everhard Road between midnight Sept. 30 and 10:15 a.m. Oct. 2, causing $500 in damages.

Man caught drinking alcohol in his car

A resident in the 1900 block of East Maple Street called police about 4:25 p.m. Oct. 3 and reported a man drinking alcohol in his car. Police arrived, followed the man out of the parking lot and witnessed a traffic violation, according to the police report. When they pulled him over, they found him intoxicated.

Car window broken on Everhard Road SW

Someone broke a window of a car in the 800 block of Everhard Road SW between 5 p.m. and 7:28 p.m. Oct. 3, causing $200 in damages.

Resident falls for money-wiring scam

An elderly woman in the 400 block of Summit Street SE fell for a money-wiring scam, which she reported to police earlier this month. The woman said she thought she got a phone call from her son who was in a holding cell for a DUI-related offense. He said he needed her to wire to Mexico City $3,760 for his release.
