Fire on Pleasant Court Causes $3,500 in Damages
The North Canton Fire Department extinguished the fire at 124 Pleasant Court NW in about 20 minutes Monday afternoon
The responded at 4:11 p.m. Monday to an apartment fire at 124 Pleasant Court NW.
The first firefighters inside the building found a small fire in the utility room, according to a news release from the department. The fire traveled through the wall, and fire crews had to remove a portion of an outside wall to put the fire out.
They had the fire under control within 20 minutes.

The North Canton Fire Prevention Bureau investigated and found that a malfunction of the power cord to the washing machine started the fire.
The occupant was not home at the time of the fire. A neighbor from the 200 block of Royer Avenue NW was at the back of her house at the time of the fire, noticed smoke coming out a back window and called 911 to report the fire.

Damage was estimated at $2,000 for the structure and $1,500 for the contents.
The North Canton Fire Department responded with two engines, a rescue truck and an ambulance with 16 personnel and reported no injuries.
