Fire Officials Continue McKinley Homes Investigation

No timetable set for conclusion of investigation regarding fires that damaged three homes in 500 block of McKinley Avenue.

"We are working on some things, but just can't put a timetable on (the investigation's conclusion)," fire inspector Scott Kelly said.

North Canton Fire Chief John Bacon said the but spread to the house next door, 520 McKinley Ave. He said it was the first dual-house fire in his decade-plus of service.

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the fire, but the residents of 520 McKinley Ave. told Patch their home was not longer livable. The back porch of the house where the blaze started is severely damaged, firefighters said. Another home, 512 McKinley Ave., reportedly suffered smoke damage.

Court records show that Robert Tedrow, the owner of 516 McKinley Ave. who rented the home to a tenant, requested an eviction for the tenant by April 13. However, the records show that Tedrow later cancelled the request.
