SUV Ends up Vertical in North Main Street Parking Lot

The 71-year-old driver was not injured in the crash Saturday morning

A 71-year-old Clinton woman misjudged her route through a parking Saturday morning and found her car sitting vertically after driving over a retaining wall.

North Canton police say Patty Harrison was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee through a parking lot in the 1600 block of North Main Street about 10 a.m. She was on her way to Dollar Tree, 1589 N. Main St., when she drove over the retaining wall several feet high.

"The vehicle became lodged in a vertical position resting on its front end," Sgt. Frank Kemp said.

She was not cited because the crash occurred on private property.

The retaining wall was not part of the North Main Street construction, which had caused a similar accident in October. Kemp said this retaining wall has been there since the businesses opened.

The Canton Repository ran a photo of the crash online this weekend.
