Couple Arrested After Stealing Laundromat Coin Machine

The Canton man and woman stole the coin changer from Hometown Laundromat in North Canton

A Canton man and woman were arrested Wednesday night after snatching a coin changer from a laundromat wall.

responded to an alarm at , 707 S. Main St., about 9:30 p.m. They found a man and woman trying to get away in a car with the coin changer.

Police arrested David L. McKain, 29, and Shannon N. Keyes, 26, and booked them both into Stark County Jail.

McKain is charged with felony theft, possessing criminal tools, tampering with a coin machine, resisting arrest and criminal damaging. He was also wanted for a parole violation and an outstanding warrant.

Keyes is charged with complicity to felony theft, complicity to tampering with coin machines and complicity to criminal damaging.

During the impounding process, additional coin changer parts were found in the car. The parts have been tied to other thefts outside of North Canton. Additional charges from the other jurisdictions are pending.
