Burglary; Smash-and-Grab Theft; and Runaway Driver: Crime Blotter

Smash and grab

A Canton man called police on April 16 at 7 p.m. to report someone had smashed into his car parked in the 6400 block of Wise Avenue.

A stereo face plate, speakers and photos were stolen from the car. Police have no suspects or leads.

Back door burglary

On April 15 at 3:59 p.m., an unknown number of burglars broke through the back door of a home in the 1500 block of Red Coach Street.

Cash, several credit cards and photos were stolen. There are no suspects at this time.

Sloppy driver

On April 13 at 11:45 p.m., a resident reported a Jeep with no headlights on was driving down the 300 block of East Maple Street. By the time police arrived, the driver had come to a stop after hitting a sign in a nearby parking lot.

Following a set of field sobriety tests, officers found the driver to be impaired. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor.
