Burglar Breaks Home's Window to Steal Laptop: Crime Blotter

Someone broke through the window of a home in the 1100 block of North Main Street between 12:30 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. Jan. 11 and stole a HP laptop computer, valued at $584.
Remote-control car stolen
Someone stole a red Venom remote-control car valued at $180 from a car in the 900 block of North Main Street between 2:20 p.m. and 2:42 p.m. Jan. 13.

Purse stolen from car on Portage Street NW
A purse containing $60 cash, credit cards and other items was stolen from a car in the 500 block of Portage Street NW between 6 p.m. Jan. 10 and 2 p.m. Jan. 11. Estimated loss is $140.

Car damaged on Sheraton Drive NW
Someone dented and scratched the side doors and back end of a car in the 400 block of Sheraton Drive NW between 7 p.m. Jan. 16 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 17. Estimated damage is $400.
$800 in coins stolen from Cambridge Avenue home
A roll of 2012 silver eagle coins was stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Cambridge Avenue SW between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 6 p.m. Oct. 16. The victim told police a person who came into the house to "complete a job" stole the coins, valued at $800.
Family Dollar thief gets away
Employees at Family Dollar, 700 N. Main St., yelled at a thief to stop and return stolen merchandise, but the person rushed out of the store with a $9 stolen cell phone charger in his or her pocket. The incident took place at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 28.
Nintendo, other items stolen from car on 7th Street NW
A hand-held Nintendo and Nintendo games were stolen from a car parked in a garage in the 400 block of 7th Street NW between 9 p.m. Jan. 10 and 8 a.m. Jan. 11. Estimated loss is $435.
