Trouble for the July 4 Celebration

Someone cut hoses and removed water distribution manifolds from food trailers in the 400 block of Wise Avenue NE between 3:30 p.m. July 2 and 8:30 a.m. July 4, causing $555 in damages. The victim on the report was listed as the North Canton Jaycees.

Elderly resident falls for phone scam

An elderly resident in the 1300 block of Clinton Avenue SE told police he had sent a total of $6,000 to people who made contact with him through the telephone between June 30 and July 5. He said he never received anything from them in return.

Gift cards stolen from car on Meadowlane Drive SE

Several gift cards valued at $60 were stolen from a car in the 1600 block of Meadowlane Drive SE between 10 p.m. July 10 and 7:25 a.m. July 11. 

Car window smashed on Valleyview Street NW

A woman in the 1300 block of Valleyview Street NW told police she had been getting unwanted phone calls and text messages from someone, and when she didn't respond to the messages the person came to where she was and smashed in the windshield of a car belonging to someone else. Estimated damage is $500. The incident took place about 8:30 p.m. July 5.

Yogurt thrown in woman's face

A woman in the 1400 block of Rogwin Circle SW told police someone threw yogurt in her face about 7 p.m. July 12.

Arson reported on 10th Street NE

A resident in the 100 block of 10th Street NE told police someone set fire to his property between 5 p.m. July 7 and 8 a.m. Saturday. The victim's American flag was burned, and his yard also was destroyed by fire. Estimated loss is $300.

YMCA locker theft

Someone broke into a locker at the North Canton YMCA, 200 S. Main St., between 8:30 and 10:40 a.m. June 28 and took credit cards and $400 cash.

$800 missing from book bag on Schneider Street SE

Someone reported $800 missing from a book bag that was left at a home in the 900 block of Schneider Street SE between 10:30 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. July 8.
