Help Create Our 'North Canton Gone Mad!' Playlist

Tell us which song takes you back to the '60s and we'll play it at the April 14 event at the Champion Event Center

Think of this as requesting a song from a DJ.

Just, well, way in advance.

I'm taking recommendations for songs to play at the April 14 "North Canton Gone Mad!" event, which I'm helping organize with the and other folks from the community. The event is based off of Mad Men, the multi-Emmy and Golden Globe award winning TV series that's set in the '60s.

So, sticking with that time period, we're looking for your favorite '60s songs to create a playlist for the event. Sure, we'll have an amazing band there (Wesley Bright and the Hi-Lites), but we plan on keeping the music going all night, even when the band's not on the stage.

I've already looked to the to get my hands on the Mad Men soundtracks for season one and two, which will give us a great place to start.

And I've been keeping track of some of my favorite oldies — "Earth Angel" by The Penguins, "Blue Moon" by Marcels and "Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)" by Gary Mann, just to name a few.

It's also safe to say we won't rigidly adhere to exactly what they would have listened to on the show. But we're shooting to be pretty darn close.

I'm also hoping that you guys not only recommend a couple songs, but also show up to the event April 14 to hear what you, me and your neighbors have created. You can find more information about the event in .
