Russell Dale Harper, 82, Served with North Canton Police for 27 Years

He also worked for Hoover Company

Russell Dale Harper served with the from 1956 to 1983.

The 82-year-old North Canton resident, who died Feb. 6 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in North Canton, also worked for the Hoover Co. for 10 years.

He was born May 2, 1928, in Canton.

Harper, a World War II veteran, served in the Army and with the Merchant Marine.

Among his interests, aside from his family, were dogs and golf.

Harper and his wife of 60 years, the former Gladys E. Moffat, spent winters in Naples, FL, for 14 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Linda E. Grisez (husband, Donald) of Uniontown and Sandra K. Criswell (husband, Larry) of North Canton; son, Russell David Harper of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack (wife, Zoe).

His parents, Thomas and Lula, brother, Ralph, and sisters, Dorothy Gardner and Wilma Van Nostran, are deceased.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. memorial services today (Thursday) at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton.

Inurnment  will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in Canton.
