Two art shows opening in one night

In keeping with its tradition,
Journey Art Gallery is bringing you new work from artists across the nation.
Two new shows will be unveiled on January 18th, from 6-9pm.

“Mantra as Art” is the gallery’s first juried show. The show asked artists to
share their mantra, not necessarily in the Eastern meditation sense, but rather
to explore what image, object or words they choose to focus on to bring peace, move forward or to be their best. Artists from Colorado to New York including

two local artists, Dr. Fredlee Votaw and Joshua Humm, were chosen for the show.

Opening on the
same night is “Silent Expressions” a show featuring the work of Paul Hovan. For Paul, expression has been his life’s joy and
struggle. Paul was born deaf and has spent his life finding creative and
inspired ways to communicate with the world he lives in. His art is his
universal medium. Born in Canton, Ohio, Paul’s passion for visual stimulation
and love of technology put him on his artistic path. His art has evolved from
hand sketching as a child to the digital and photographic mediums he works with
today to create images that provoke thought and emotion that is rooted in his
visual language; American sign language. Paul’s work features the ASL symbol for Love, which we see as his “mantra.”

Both shows will remain on display through February 13th, during business hours; Tues-Thurs 12-6pm, Fri-Sat 12-9pm, Sun 1-5pm
