North Canton Journeys to the World
As part of the
Smithsonian exhibition, Journey Stories,
the North Canton Heritage Society and Walsh University will hold a panel titled
“North Canton Journeys to the World” on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Walsh
University’s Barrette Business and Community Center. The panel featuring, Dr.
Judy Kreye, a nursing professor at Walsh University, Rev. Steve Stultz Costello,
from North Canton’s Faith United Methodist Church, and Kate Carlson, a Walsh
Alum, will delve into the each person’s personal journey leaving North Canton
to venture out into foreign lands. Dr.
Douglas Palmer, Walsh’s Director of Global Learning, will moderate. Each person will tell his or her story about
how their journey shaped their lives after returning to North Canton.
The event is part of the North Canton Heritage
Society’s exhibit Journey Stories, created
by the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street Program and sponsored by
the Ohio Humanities Council. The
exhibition tells the story of where others have traveled, and allows visitors
to recall how their own family came to the United States, whether by ship or
jet plane. The exhibition opened Sept. 23 and will run through Oct. 31. To view Journey

across the street from the North Canton Public Library.

The exhibition will be on view Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – noon or Saturdays from 1 p.m.
– 4 p.m. until October 31.
