WATCH: Water Balloon Fight Soaks Whole Neighborhood

The Boroughs neighborhood has kept the end-of-the-school-year water balloon fight tradition going for 15 years

OUTSIDE CLEVELAND, OH -- The Boroughs neighborhood in Uniontown, Ohio is no stranger to water balloon fights.

Locals there have battled it out in an end-of-the-school-year water balloon fight for 15 years now, and we hear it's only gotten bigger and better.

The fight consists of about 5,000 water balloons, and contraptions like a slingshot that launches balloons 300 feet, and dozens and dozens of participants, said Suzette Marinchek. She started the water balloon fight about 15 years ago with her family (sons Logan, 15, Jacob, 17, and Brian, 20).

"It's my favorite day of the year," Marinchek said.

Parents and kids wait until the last North Canton school bus rolls in, and then all heck breaks loose. And it doesn't let up for about 25 minutes — until the last balloon is thrown.
