WATCH: Trailer Park Residents Take Property Battle to YouTube

Residents in the Evergreen Mobile Home Park took their property battle to the web when they were told they'd need to move out to make way for the construction of apartment buildings

Residents of Evergreen Mobile Home Park are taking a stand via YouTube video.

The residents were given 180 days to move out of their homes (at North Main and Applegrove streets) to make way for two two-story Northridge Apartment buildings, according to the video. When the letter arrived requesting they vacate, it left them scrambling.

In the video, some residents say they had intended to reside there for the rest of their lives.

The North Canton Planning Commission had  for the new Northridge Apartments project March 27. Representatives from McKinley Development and GBC Design in Akron attended the meeting.

Residents in 20 trailers need to relocate to accommodate the project, and representatives said at the meeting that all but two residents had confirmed they would move. They expect all residents to move by the end of May and construction to begin sometime in June.
