Patch Sites Get Fresh New Redesign for Spring

You may notice a few changes to how our site looks today – we've done a little 'nip and tuck' to make it more user-friendly. What do you think?

No, you're not losing it! Patch looks different today.

We did some changes to the home page to make it even more user-friendly. And we've moved a couple pieces of furniture.

Here's what's different:

  • We tweaked some words in our navigation bar to save space (e.g., "Traffic & Gas" is now "Commute" and "Neighborhood Files" is now "Pics & Clips")
  • We moved the weather icon next to the Patch branding so you can find it more quickly!
  • We moved, well, YOU closer to the top! (Our "shout stream" is now front and center to show all your comments off.)
  • We also changed some of the aesthetics, like trying out new colors.

While the site might look a little different today, we still offer the same robust coverage of everything happening in your community.

I think I would like to see more of the viewer comments displayed in the "shout stream." Not just more comments, but I'd like to see more than a couple words of the comments displayed. What do you guys think?

I agree with you. The multiple ellipses make it difficult to follow the thread of the comments.

I like the changes! Right now the shout stream is A little heated, it will look better when they are nice & complimentary :) ...but I agree, they need to show some more of the actual comment.
