Pathway Caring for Children has relocated its main offices to 4895 Dressler Road N.W. in Canton.
Monday night's storm and high waters marked the third major flood to hit the nonprofit social service agency in four months, according to a Pathway news release.
“We were able to pull together after the first two floods,” said Eric Belden, executive director of Pathway, in the news release. “But the recent water damage made our facility — and our equipment and materials inside — irrecoverable.”
Pathway works with children dealing with abuse, neglect, abandonment and mental-health issues. The new offices will allow staff to better serve these children and their families. Pathway plans to remain at this new location for at least a year.
“Our hearts reach out to all the other individuals and businesses affected by the recent flooding,” Belden said, adding that he wants to thank Pathway’s executive board, staff members, children and the community for the outpouring of support received. “Together, we’ll push through for a better tomorrow.”
