New Work City Foundation Hires Elizabeth Blakemore For Newest City Initiative
Blakemore will serve as arts outreach coordinator for "North Canton - The ART Of It All"
New Work City Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit charity to create jobs, has created a job of its own. Elizabeth Blakemore has been hired to serve as arts outreach coordinator for a New Work City’s newest initiative called “North Canton - The ART of it all."
“North Canton - The ART of it All” is a local effort to grow the arts in the North Canton community, according to a news release from New Work City Foundation. Blakemore's position will establish, coordinate and promote arts education and appreciation in North Canton. There will be a series of events and classes in the city.
An artist herself, and self-described art enthusiast, Blakemore has served as the curator of The in the since 2007. She holds a BA in art education with a dual minor in education and studio art, graduating Cum Laude from Kent State University. She also holds a State of Ohio teaching license to teach Visual Art for pre-K through 12th grade.

New Work City Foundation, established in 2009, is made up of an all-volunteer board of directors with a mission to create micro-jobs. They host exciting events called FUN-raisers to raise money, and then create jobs in the community with the proceeds. Their motto is “Have Fun, Raise Money, Create Jobs!”
Last year, their popular annual event, , awarded $2,500 in scholarships to the special-needs students of Transition U’s inaugural class to be used as matching grants by their local employers.

Events on New Work City Foundation’s calendar for 2012 include:
- Wine Not Support the Arts? — a wine inspired fine art exhibit at - Opening Reception - Feb. 6 - Exhibit will run through March 3, 2012
- 4th Annual Taste of North Canton — May 2, at , brings you samples from 25 local restaurants
- Sunday in the City — a series of three outdoor family arts and music festivals held in Bitzer Park scheduled for June 24, July 22 and Sept. 9
