MAP: Main Street Festival Causes Road Closures This Weekend

The is rolling in this weekend, and with it comes a few road closures in downtown North Canton.

The wants festival-goers and motorists alike to be prepared for some detours. So, check out the list of closed streets and take a peek at our map to make sure you know your route through town this weekend!

The following city streets adjoining the square will be closed to through traffic:

• North Main Street at Charlotte Street
• Ream Avenue NE at West Maple Street
• Harmon Street SW at South Main Street
• 400 block on South Main Street (motorists alerted at Bachtel Street of road closed ahead)
• Bitzer Street SE at McKinley Avenue SE
• East Maple Street at McKinley Avenue SE
• Witwer Street NE at North Main Street
• Hower Street NE at North Main Street

The square and surrounding streets will reopen about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police ask motorists to plan alternative travel around the festival site and remind community members that they still will have access to their respective religious Sunday services.

And lastly, police ask motorists obey the 25 mph speed limit in our neighborhoods and traffic control signals to allow safe travel for everyone traveling around, to and from the festival.
